For the second day of AmeriCorps Week the CHC HealthCorps members and I took a trip down to shore where we spent the day to volunteering at the New London Community Meal Center. The Meal center was established in 1985 and was created to provide nutritious meals to the food insecure residents of the New London County. On Monday, January 19th, the Americorps team of CHC, Inc. observed MLK day by participating in a day of service at the University of Bridgeport. They joined a group of UB students and community volunteers to create over 30,000 3-serving bags of lentil casserole.
