From our Chief Medical Officer:
It is with great excitement that I announce the selection of Dr. Dipak Patel as the next OSMD for Meriden!
Dr. Patel has been with CHC of Meriden for almost four years, during which he has gained the respect and confidence of his patients, colleagues and peers. He completed his medical school education at NYCOM and then a Family Medicine Residency at Peninsula Hospital Medical Center, where he was a Chief Resident and was chosen as the prestigious AOA resident of the year. Since being at CHC, he has maintained the practice of a full scope family doctor, while practicing at CHC and moonlighting at Middlesex Hospital and Midstate medical center to maintain his inpatient skills. He is also a member of the National Health Service Corps and former Americorps member.
During Dr. Daisy Wynn’s maternity leave, Dr. Patel provided interim leadership for the adult patient related needs for Meriden, collaborating with Dr. Angela Moemeka, who served as the interim OSMD. In that role, he truly excelled and was exceptionally thoughtful, organized and efficient in his work. We were all very excited when he expressed interest in the permanent OSMD role.
Dr. Patel has really emerged as a leader for the Meriden staff, in both medicine and wellness. We expect all site yoga events happening under his leadership very soon!
He and his wife Sarju are also the proud parents of a handsome young man, 15 month old Rishaan.
Dr. Patel will assume the role on August 1, 2013 as Dr. Wynn and her family move to Chicago. Daisy, we thank you so much for your committed, thoughtful and fair leadership, excellent clinical care, and role modeling wellness and health in Meriden over the past few years. You will be missed!
