On Friday, February 8th, the staff at CHC of Meriden will be hosting an afternoon dedicated to spreading awareness and knowledge about heart disease. Between 2pm and 4pm, attendees will learn about the risks for heart disease, which foods in your diet will lower cholesterol and high blood pressure, and how to prepare tasty meals that are also kind on the heart! The month of February is designated as American Heart Month by the American Heart Association, and CHC is again joining the efforts being made nationwide to reduce heart disease and stroke-related deaths in our country.
The event is completely free to the general public, and will be taking place in the main lobby at CHC’s Meriden site. Present at the event will be several health experts, including Hilda Cardona, Registered Nurse, CDE, Luz Hago, Registered Dietician, CDE, and Marissa Salvo, Pharmacist. Each of these individuals will relay their expertise to those in attendance. There will also be a half-hour long exercise session, which promises to be enjoyable and a great example of how to stay healthy in the coming weeks, months, and years.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday, as we do our part in fighting heart disease and in keeping our population healthy!
