On Friday, February 3rd and Saturday February 4th, the Community Health Center Inc. held its Give Kids a Smile Day Event at our CHC dental sites. Today, CHC staff participates in the 16th annual Stand Down, an event that provides free services, assistance and information to Connecticut Veterans. Our mobile dental staff is providing oral cancer screenings as well as doing cleanings and some restorative dental work. The event is taking place at the State Veterans Home campus on West Street in Rocky Hill and free transportation is provided to veterans from across the state. As the State of Connecticut works on balancing its budget, there are changes to the dental services that adult Medicaid patients can receive. As an example, effective July 1st periodic oral exams and dental cleanings are now limited to once every year instead of every six months for healthy adults. What does this mean?
