June is Men’s Health Month
The remarkably warm weather late last week welcomed in the month of June, and with that a very important awareness observance. June is Men’s Health Month, a nationwide effort to remind men of all ages how critical it is that they regularly see a medical provider. Even men in great shape stand to benefit from developing an ongoing relationship with a primary care provider, as getting into the practice of proactively addressing one’s health can prevent the most minor of issues from turning into something more serious. Events ranging from screenings to health education fairs will be held across the country over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for these types of opportunities in a community near you.
June 10th to 16th marks International Men’s Health Week, where dozens of countries have come together to recognize the significance of addressing health issues that pertain particularly to men. This observance week leads right up to Father’s Day, so as this annual celebration gets closer consider checking in with men you care about and making sure that they are staying healthy. Remember, though Men’s Health Month only lasts throughout June, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a lifelong pursuit. Enjoy the next few weeks, and always make sure to take the necessary steps in keeping yourself and loved ones healthy.
