This coming Friday, CHC’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Nwando Olayiwola will participate in a panel at BlogHer 2012 entitled “The state of the world’s mothers: working together to save & improve lives”.

Attendees will hear from Save the Children about the state of global motherhood in the U.S. and around the world and will learn how Johnson & Johnson and its partner organizations are addressing some of the challenges.  Attendees also will learn how to can get involved in raising awareness about global motherhood with tips from the Huffington Post about how to use social media effectively for social good.

Introducing the topic will be Sharon D’Agostino Vice President of Corporate Contributions at Johnson & Johnson.  Leading off the panel is Carolyn Miles, CEO of Save the Children.  She was a recent guest on Conversations on Health Care.  After this, Dr. Olayiwola will speak about Text4Baby, and a representative from the American Academy of Pediatrics will speak.

To pull it all together,

Brian Sirgutz, Senior Vice President at Huffington Post, will talk about how attendees can tell their own personal stories through social media. Specifically, he will discuss the evolution of the Global Motherhood platform to highlight good works, talk about how participants can get involved in writing for activism to raise awareness about a cause, and announce that participants will have an opportunity to be featured on the Huffington Post Global Motherhood page and Johnson & Johnson’s social media channels.
