Unfortunately Mother Nature did not cooperate with the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, which was scheduled for Sunday morning in Westport, CT. For the month of October Fairfield County Director Adele Gordon chose two clinical staff members who have done exemplary work in missing no opportunities for preventative care screenings. Known as the “Planned Care Missed Opportunities Report,” this report tracks whether the providers made appointments or offered referrals for screenings for breast cancer, depression and colorectal cancer as well as A1C testing. This month was a special month in Fairfield County. We had two employees who demonstrated such incredible effort in their work that Adele Gordon presented two individuals with the award. Adele Gordon awarded AmeriCorps member Juan Javier-Desloges with Fairfield County’s June Employee of the Month designation.  Juan was not available to receive the award at the staff meeting because he had to leave to start his first semester of medical school.  CONGRATULATIONS Juan!!!
