National Running Day
Today is National Running Day and we take fitness at CHC very seriously. We want all of our staff to be as fit as possible, not only for their own good, but also for the good of our patients. You see, patients pay close attention to their providers, sometimes paying more attention to the example that the provider offers than the recommendations that provider makes.
There is another way that our staff use their own fitness to help improve the health of others. For example, one of our doctors is running as part of a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training in the New York City Triathalon on July 8. Team members have contribution pages where they raise money to advance the research for cures.
We even find ways to get a little exercise at work. Recently, we wanted to view an important program on television, so members of the communications team went to fitness room in our Middletown facility and walked on the treadmills where we could watch the show we were interested in and get some good exercise at the same time.
Over the coming days, we hope to share more stories of how CHC staff find ways to stay fit while providing the best possible care we can to our patients.
