Last month, the AmeriCorps Members at the Community Health Center led a food drive for the Amazing Grace Food Pantry which is a program of St. Vincent de Paul.
Yesterday, we received the following message from Mimi Rich, on of the Families Feeding Families Coordinators:
Dear Nicole and CHC staff-
That 626 pounds of food you delivered on 10/7/11 goes a really long way toward stocking our pantry shelves. It takes a lot of food to fill the shopping bags of the almost 900 households Amazing Grace serves each month, so this donation of food is especially appreciated. Please pass on our thanks to all the kind people who contributed.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Mimi
I want to pass this on to our great AmeriCorps Team who organized the effort, and to all the staff of CHC that contributed to the food drive. Thank you, everyone. As we approach Thanksgiving and the holiday season, I want to remind all of us to be thankful for what we’ve got. If you can help provide food for those who are thankful for a simple meal made available through the food pantry, please consider doing so.
