Fairfield County July 2011 Employees of the Month

This month was a special month in Fairfield County. We had two employees who demonstrated such incredible effort in their work that Adele Gordon presented two individuals with the award. These two fabulous CHC staff members are Fatma Naiem and Krystle Moore.

Fatma Naiem is a Dental Assistant in Stamford. She has also spent the last two years volunteering as the site safety officer. When the Connecticut Department of Health made its surprise visit last month and Adele was out of the office, Fatma helped Stamford pass the inspection with flying colors. By providing the inspector with detailed, organized, and focused information, she made sure he knew how on top of things we are in Stamford with our infection control, safety precautions, and adherence to policy. At the end of the inspection, the officer said he had never met someone so meticulous and thorough! Way to go Fatma !!!

Krystle Moore is the Dental Care Coordinator in Norwalk. She not only does a fabulous job in that capacity, but also has spearheaded the expansion of our Farmer’s Markets program. When she heard about the need for one in our Day Street CHC neighborhood she approached Adele and said “What can I do?” Adele told her to start one. Krystle did just that by researching the program, contacting the State Department of Agriculture, getting all the required permits, and reaching out to the Calvary Church around the corner for support. She also organized the effort to advertise the market through fliers, signs and even walking the streets of South Norwalk with co-workers dressed as fruits and vegetables. Krystle then reached out to our summer intern from Dartmouth College, Meghan Everett, to bring Recess Rocks to the market, incorporating the complete idea of wellness and healthy living into the market. Thanks to Krystle’s efforts, South Norwalk now has a terrific resource for fresh vegetables and fun exercise.

Congratulations Naiem and Krystle!!! With such great effort, Fairfield County CHC shines!
